In Eaglehawk Secondary College we’ve got a lot of different students from other country that speak English as a second language and they have to go to EAL class instead of English class.
In EAL class the work is a bit more easy than English work and it really helps us a lot. In EAL class students and teacher are working together. Sometime we have to read stories to the teacher because she will know how our reading should be.
In our classes we learnt about a little girl who has run away from home because of war and we have to answer the questions about this story. Sometime the teacher gives us a picture of people with animals and we have to write about what is in the picture, what they’re doing. I also have improved my spelling and reading.
Some of us don’t have to go to EAL class anymore, Teacher just have to come to our class for one week in one semester.
