Jacob Holden Memorial Cup

On Thursday 22nd of October St. Liborius students celebrated Footy Colours Day and participated in our annual Jacob Holden Memorial Cup. We hold this day each year to celebrate the life of Jacob Holden who sadly passed away in 2013.

Each year our Year 6 students play off for the coveted cup. This year was a little different, not being able to host the crowds which usually line the boundary, however this was no deterrent for the students who gave their all and played with the spirit in which we expect of such an occasion. Jacob’s parents and brother Fraser were in attendance for the game, where Fraser was assistant to the winning coach, Travis Ledwidge.
After the game, Fraser spoke highly of the calibre of players at St. Liborius, as well as the way we come together as a community to support each other.

The students were happy to be able to play a game of football while rememberaing one of our students. Students and families were encouraged to donate to the Footy Colours Day – Fight Cancer Foundation’s website to raise money to help provide education support for kids with Cancer.
