The Year 3 and 4 students at Lightning Reef Primary School had a trip to Sovereign Hill on Monday the 4th of March. During Term One, students will be learning about the Eureka Stockade and life during the Gold Rush. Students and staff enjoyed many things at Sovereign Hill, including:

– Panning for Gold
– The Gold Pour
– An education session, exploring the stories of gold rush immigrants and discovering their reasons for coming and the legacies they left behind
– Going down the Red Hill Mine
This was a wonderful experience and we look forward to learning more about the history of the Eureka Stockade and life during the Gold Rush.
