August 17th — Empowering Eaglehawk hosted their annual celebration with over eighty people attending.

Mitch Graham, Empowering Eaglehawk President chaired the meeting and spoke about his first year in the position.

“It’s been a whirlwind ride with opportunities, and a clear mindset has helped the organisation into a new era and phase on its journey.  However, this wouldn’t have been achieved without our committee’s tremendous support”.

Mitch continued to thank all members that had contributed in various roles throughout the year.

“I would like to thank every one of our members for your contribution in the last twelve  months and am sure you will continue doing great things for our community”.

Over the past twelve months EE’s generous partners, Bendigo Telco and Bendigo Bank as well as many other sponsors, provided funds that were distributed into the Eaglehawk community.  Their ongoing support has been very much appreciated.

It has been a significant twelve months for EE with lots of remodelling work and rebranding to get it looking like a 21st century brand.  During this period, the website was remodelled, flyers, social media and promotional materials were developed.

Quarterly goals were set to improve EE.  These included a Relaunch Competition, “This is Eaglehawk”, Good News Stories and Business Gala Event”.  In addition, EE has provided many grants including $5000 to Flite Basketball Club and $3000 to Athletics Bendigo. Scholarships and competitions were provided to the Bendigo Baptist Church ($1000), Bendigo Eaglehawk Badminton Association ($750) and Bendigo Family Financial Services ($500). Through the “This is Eaglehawk Competition”, $1000 was donated to the Eaglehawk Children’s Festival, and $2500 for the Dahlia and Arts Festival.  Donations were also made to the 3556 magazine and Phoenix FM.

EE is keen to support any group, organisation, company or club.  “We are happy to grant them funds to make their projects a reality”.
