Some of our 3556 team met with Councillor James Williams and discussed future / current projects happening in the 3556 area.

Plans for Peter Krenz Leisure Centre

Having recently reopened after a two week closure for maintenance, the Eaglehawk
Peter Krenz Leisure Centre is now set for a major upgrade. A three year planning time frame has begun between the YMCA and Bendigo council. This period will involve
consultation with the Eaglehawk community to determine its needs for the future facility,
as well as designing plans and calculating costs.

Canterbury Park Oval Upgrades

Canterbury Park has attracted funding from the Council and State government in support of upgrades to the football oval. The project will include a new electronic scoreboard (same as Queen Elizabeth Oval scoreboard), high quality LED oval lights and renovated spectator shelter.

Ironbark Gully PathTrail

Stage 1 of plans for a new shared walking and cycling path along the existing Ironbark Gully Trail has begun with over 1,000 trees being planted along the site in July. The trail is set to encourage physical activity and improve safety in the area, especially around Kaliana School.

Truscott Reserve Match Lighting

Truscott Reserve in California Gully is soon to install match lighting to pitch #1, providing the oval competition-standard night lighting. The project is to be partly funded by community continuations from Sport Australia and Eaglehawk FC.

Eaglehawk BMX Kiosk Complete

Construction of the Eaglehawk BMX Kiosk was successfully completed in July, and councillors are looking to secure more funding in future to continue improving the site. Potential for landscaping around the tracks is to be proposed in the next year.
