The Dahlia and Arts Festival has been running for 47 years. Every year there is a parade on Saturday and a family day on the Sunday. Eaglehawk citizens put in a lot of work every year to make sure the event gets bigger and better. It is a very popular event for all people and it is always buzzing with people.
Below are some of the programs that ran during the festival:

Around the world with Play Dough
Saturday 16th March
Kids were encouraged to make popular man-made or natural landmarks from around the world using playdough.

Access Creative Studios

Flower Show

Possum skin cloaks display
15th, 16th, 19th and 22nd March

The designs on the cloaks were made using a sharp blade which then had ochre rubbed into the incisions. The local aboriginal nations are represented, the Dja Dja Wurrung particularly, through the use of the spirit animal Bunjil (the wedge tail eagle).

‘The cloaks were very warm and soft and long.’
